Website Portal
The Segovia Web Portal is an easy to use application that can be accessed anywhere at anytime. The system minimizes the dependency on sophisticated proprietary interfaces and maintains clean and sleek forms to templates to search and sort reports. The user only needs to have a web browser and a copy of Microsoft Excel or Open Office Calc to use the system.
X-Tabbed Reports
The Standard Edition also offers an additional markup tags to enable cross-tabbing within the report template. This allows template designers to pre-define the logic for cross-tabbing. Since the system is utilizing a markup language, this allows a greater amount of flexibility to derive a variety of different cross-tab options than the pre-defined functions embedded within Excel for standard pivots. This expands on the possible layouts, pivoted values, and complex calculations that can potentially enable users to integrate a multi-purpose view (i.e. product cost, allocation, and profit margin) within a single cross-tabbed report.
Admod
Admod is an editable database that was created within Microsoft Excel. The user can utilize Admod like any other database within Segovia. Our software is able to connect to the Admod database and extract values from it for report generation. However, Admod is a unique database because the user can make changes to the data set freely. Each worksheet within an Excel workbook represents a separate data table. The Standard Edition allows for multiple Admod databases to be connected to Segovia.
Multiple Data Sources
The user can connect to multiple data sources within Segovia to create queries and generate reports. Segovia can connect to various ERP or legacy systems so that all the data can be obtained through one application.
Non-Relational Databases
Segovia is able to connect to non-relational databases such as MongoDB, Hadoop, and CouchDB to extract data out of the systems for reporting purposes.
Barcodes
The Standard Edition also creates and maintains barcodes as a data type. Segovia will convert a value into a Code 128 barcode for shipping and packaging of products. The barcode is displayed on the final output report.
Images
Segovia is also able to extract images as a data type from a data table. The image is pulled from the Binary Image Location and displayed in the output report.
Multiple Users
With the Standard Edition, the software is able to support multiple users on the platform. All users are required to log in with a user name and password to access the system. Users are able to view the same folders and reports as long as the security access is allowed by the administrator.
Multi-Sheet Data Sources
The Standard Edition also supports an enhanced feature which gives users the ability to request data from a variety of different datasources and aggregates all the result sets into a single spreadsheet. Within an Excel workbook, each worksheet can be dedicated to its own data source while maintaining the ability to reference worksheets within the same spreadsheet.
A real world example could be a spreadsheet with the following tabbed worksheets:
- Salesman profile - Salesforce.com
- Invoiced Sales - Oracle E-Biz
- Commission Payable - Microsoft Great Plains
Folder/Report Security
Security settings are established by the report administrator for each folder or report. Users who do not have permissions for a folder or report will not have access to run the report or access the corresponding Q-Mark.
Q-Mark Email Security
The user has the ability to email a Query Mark or Q-Mark that only allows the email recipient to access the single report link.
