We offer 4 different software packages depending on your specific need. The Standard Edition is for organizations who need a software to help with reporting functions on the existing infrastructure. The Enterprise Edition is for advanced organization that use multiple systems to manage the business and need help managing data between the different systems.

All of our software packages include the following basic attributes that are unique to Segovia.

Based on Microsoft Excel

Segovia is an application that extracts data from multiple databases and data sources and into a basic Microsoft Excel worksheet. The user has more control than ever to create reports and manipulate the data because the report template, design, and output is in Excel. The report template can also incorporate a variety of Excel features such as cell formulas, data types, and properties that can be reflected in the final output report.

Segovia aims to simplify and dramatically reduce the time spent on the general corporate reporting process through this unique and simple design process.



Markup Language

Segovia uses a patent pending markup language to identify loops of data, nested loops, and page breaks. The markup language is written in Excel and it gives the user control over how the data is displayed on the report. The tags ensure that every time your report is run, the information is displayed in a customized format.



Template Design

The Segovia template engine is based on our markup language which simplifies the design process for reporting. Under our best practices, you can copy and paste your favorite reports, forms, and other Excel documents into the template and re-map all the database fields. Since the system is based on native Excel functions, the system will adjust all the respective formulas and corresponding logic within each cell every single time a report is run.



Q-Marks

Q-Marks or Query Marks are a unique way to save and obtain reports with saved report filters and sorts. A Q-Mark is a saved website address link that can be dragged and dropped as an icon. This allows reports to be sent as Q-Marks through email without a document attachment. Users can only view the reports through the Q-Mark if they have the proper security to access it.



Q-Builder

The Q-Builder or Query Builder is an application within Segovia that allows the user to create table joins between various database tables to form queries. The tool is based on SQL and built around an easy 7-step process. The user can connect to multiple data sources, select and sort data fields, and customize the query for the purpose of creating report templates.



File / Folder Security

Segovia was built around a file/folder system so the user group can organize reports based on departments, people, or categories. The folders within Segovia are a symbolic representation of the file system.

The administrator can easily change the security and access for each folder. Typically, the person in charge of granting security for a particular group of users would be a manager of a department.



Integration

Segovia can integrate with a number of different enterprise systems. The system can authenticate against the following data sources:

  • LDAP Servers
  • Relational Databases
  • Flat Files (comma delimited / fixed length)
  • Excel Spreadsheets

The system employs a variety of different technologies to further expand upon a company's pre-existing infrastructure to expedite the implementation process. The time that it takes to setup and utilize a Microsoft Active Directory instance can be as short as 5 minutes contingent of the availability of the system administrator.

Larger organizations have higher intrinsic needs with regards to users, groups, layers, management and security. LDAP integration provides larger enterprises the flexibility to centralize administration while minimizing the implementation time. All the domain name and domain component requests are defined within a configuration file. The system by default the configuration for a few large LDAP vendors (i.e. Microsoft Active Directory, Lotus Domino, OpenLDAP, majority of LDAP calls are not fixed within the system but defined through configuration).



Database Compatability

Segovia is designed to support a wide variety of databases within a single web application. The system not only supports traditional RDBMS, but also cloud-based data sources such as Salesforce.com, Netsuite, and other Web XML based data systems.
